I think people are not really that interested.In the 1930’s the idea of flying to South Africa was quite novel and the pilots considered hero’s.Now if you want to fly to S.A you go to Heathrow and hop on board.

There were two sailplane freaks from Finland who flew a Stemme motorised glider from Finland down to South Africa. They made a book about it. It is an adventure as such.

As I read Henshaw spent 27 hours in RSA. Not making the Chalkie record any dimmer.

Lindy -If you pop on the website the aircraft is IFR including oxygen.
