Do I go to Old Warden, or Bruntingthorpe on Sunday.
I Sponsor XH558, so feel obliged – but I wanna see some real aircraft flying too.
Putting aside jet/prop (I love ’em all) prejudices – which do you think will be the better day?
Can I do both? Plymouth – Brunty – OW? What time do I leave Brunty to get to OW in plenty of time. Looks like I’ll be camping somewhere anyway – or looking for a b&b en-route from Plymouth on Saturday.

Whats going on at Abingdon?

Personally it’s Abingdon only for me, it’s only once a year and both Brunty and OW have multiple events throughout the year.
I might see you there Damien. Smart choice, good reasoning.

From here (Plymouth), I guess the best option is to go to Brunty first, if the ground looks nice and firm (I believe OW has a grass airfield) – Stick around until mid-day/1pm then carry right on to OW.
What time do proceedings begin at OW?
Brunty will be open at about 9am – so although I might not see much in the way of trundling up the runway, I will certainly get to see XH558.
A very long day, none the less.

I live north of Brunty and it takes me about 30/35 mins to get there and about 1hr 25 to get to OW.
Hope this helps!

AA website suggests an hour and twenty four minutes. Drop down from Brunty on the A5199, onto the A14 eastbound, follow that to the A1 at Brampton Hut, head south to Biggleswade, and hang a right.
Watch out for the cameras on the A14 just past Thrapston (70mph), and on the A1 at Beeston near Sandy (50mph). They work. 😮

How long, do you reckon, does it take to get from Brunty to OW (or vice-versa)?

I’m also going through this dilemma however both Old Warden and Brunty are less than 30 mins from my house..
I had decided on OW however its been raining here the past two days and the weather forecast shows more rain over the weekend 🙁 🙁
Can’t see much happening at OW based on this so i think its Brunty for me on Sunday.

Ow..
Rob
Old Warden every time.
Sadly though I’m very biased.
It’s nice to be spoiled for choice though–Don’t you think??
All the best in your descision making process.
