Interesting documentary on C5 at the moment with lots of archive footage of Tu16s and Yak-28s etc

And an awful lot of mis-identification!! How difficult is it to come up with some film of an Il-38??-or to find out that a Tu-16 is NOT a fighter bomber? or that an X-15 is NOT a missile!!
To be fair – they did show an Il-38 taking off – then switched to a Tu-95 in flight.
The Yak-28 pilot’s helmet was interesting though…….. 😮
Why was it advertised as ‘never before revealed’ etc …….
I recall a TV documentary about the same mutiny a few years back…
Admittedly it did not contain so much footage of Soviet weaponry, but it was slightly less sensational and stuck to the facts without overly dramatising them.
As for the tag line – The REAL story behind ‘The Hunt for Red October’….
The only connection is that the Riga mutiny may have inspired Tom Clancy’s novel.

Is that the one about the Krivak class frigate that tried to flee to Finland or something like that?
