Hi all,
Just got thinking earlier about how good last year’s MAN meet was, and decided, hey why not start a thread about a similar thing this year!
Looking at the ‘archive’, last years thread was started on the 5th of June, so about a month earlier. But hopefully that may mean even more people can come this year, as more people may know about it, and get cheaper flights.
Last year the meet was held on the 10th August, which was a Wednesday, which seemed good for most people.
So this year I propose Wednesday the 9th of August. Obviously this date is open to discussion, but I generally find the best way to organise a meet is to set a date and work around it.
Let me know your thoughts chaps, and lets make this year’s MAN meet even more successful than the hugely enjoyable one last year!

Sorry guys I wont be able to make August 1st. I’ll be on my way to the Costa Blanca in Spain on July 31st to do some spotting at both Alicante and Murcia Airports. I don’t fly back to Leeds/Bradford until about 4th. Yet again on another Jet2.com plane.
Never mind, maybe next time I’ll meet up with you lot.

I shall agree provisionally and offer my services! (ooeerr). WIth it being a weekday I can probably get away with claiming the car for the day.
So. Anyone thats passing through Stoke/Crewe on their way up, if you are using the wonderful national rail network then I may just be able to swing by. Could save you around about a tenner I reckon for that kinda distance (petrol paid for).
Similarly during the day I can play partial taxi, dont wanna be driving all day though.
I should be able to confirm within 2 weeks of the date, depends on if im working or in Florida on me PPL.
If you do wish then to take up the offer, your carriage awaits!

I won’t be attending unfortunately. Any day now and my next holiday will be confirmed. With that to pay off plus another £400 debt (still got to finish paying for last year’s Hong Kong!!), I’m all spent up.

Ok I’m swinging towards the 1st August at the moment. I can get a Jet2 146 from LGW-MAN then a Bmi ERJ 145 from MAN-LHR…..£45 return inc taxes doesn’t seem bad.
It’s looking good for me on the 1st as well. Looks like I’m flying to Norway on the 2nd, but I should be free the day before. Should be good as the previous meet was a few months before I joined here!

Ok, so which of the 1st or 2nd is most suitable? I still don’t know if I can make it, but once people have given an idea as to which day is best, I can have a look at getting a decent flight.
Well i’m hopefully going to have two trips to AMS, one at the start of summer, and one at the end! I’m aiming to fly at once a week during the end of July all of August.
Going to get AMS, LHR, DUB all booked, as well as my current LBA-BRS-DUB-LBA in June, and am also looking at LBA-BHD-LGW-MAN, and LBA-BFS-LPL-AMS-LBA.
All should hopefully be possible if I keep my job! :).
