Can anybody cast some light on what happened to Hurricane II 5124?
Is this the last Hurricane to have been sold for scrap, even though it was last reported to have been under restoration with SAAF 15 Air Depot at Snake Valley, South Africa, in 1973? Information from Vintage and Veteran Aircraft (4th edition) and Warbirds Directory (1st edition).
Any ideas?

Sadly scrapped
This was indeed scrapped, sometime in the late 70s/early 80s. Great shams as it was substantially complete when “stored” at Snake Valley.
I guess some parts could still exist. I guess you could say it’s one crime was not being a Spitfire!
