The A380 would come empty, so it should be possible. Farnborough in the past also handled A340-600s and 747s. The A380 is designed to be able to land on ruwnays that can handle 747s so it should be possible. Wether the taxiways are wide enough I do not know.

How do they propose getting an A380 into Farnborough? Surely the runway isn’t big enough to handle it?

T5, from what ive seen plan with FIA2006 is a B777 and A346 and A380 will be in a sort of U shape pen and will each taxi out for their displays but whilst static letting people up as close as possible without having to move the barriers.

Not as bad as Farnborough though, where a number of items leave before the public days start.

I don’t know about that.

I checked the Paris Air Show website just a few days before we went and was surprised by just much was on display or actually going to be flying on the day. Like most, I only wanted to see the A380 take to the skies, but a lot of what we had been promised, and I mean a lot, just disappeared in time for us getting there. Whatever happened to the Qatar A319 that was supposed to be flying?

Mind you, wasn’t too impressed by Farnborough 2002 and even less impressed by this year’s Paris, so I doubt I’ll be visiting any of them again.

still no KC767 pics 🙁

The KC767 left just after 9.30 on the Friday morning. For some reason they would not let the public in until it left. Also a new CAL 747F was there but left at about 8.30 Saturday morning.

The KC767 was not present at the public days. So unless someone here managed to attend at a trade day you will not get them here. I believe airliners.net has a few of them.

It looked like a half closed show, in my humble opinion. Looking forward to Farnborough next year. :p

Lovely photos from everyone in this thread… top notch work guys. 😀

Was good to meet you again Allen, and you too Michael – And nice to meet a new face too, John.:)

Peter, some lovely shots of the 787 models there – something i completely overlooked at the show. The heat and amount of people crammed in the place kinda hindered our day somewhat. 🙁

Looking forward to meeting you all again some time soon.

Does anyone know what this one was doing here? Not that I disliked her, it just seemed a bit old in between the 772LR, 380 and 346.

Actually yes it could seem old compared to the very latest aircrafts from both BA and AI. But this is probably one of the last A343 to be built. Air Tahiti Nui was taking delivery of this aircraft at Le Bourget.

Here some pics during its test flights > http://picavia.foxalpha.com/search.php?Registration=2065

I assume AI wanted to feature a very colorful and attractive aircraft to counter the amazing B777 livery! 😉

TREMENDOUS shots, everyone! I admire all your diligence in getting such clean shots, especially those of aircraft on the runways, as I know firsthand the number of people there over the weekend… I gave up trying to get shots of takeoff and landings.

Once I get my photos developed (one month away at least), I’ll see if I can scan and post some here. Still using a cheapo film camera… going digital soon, hopefully. 😀

Nice shots 🙂

Interesting to see that you were actually on the left hand side of the aircraft. As your aircraft taxied past the bit where we were stood at CDG, we were convinced it was one of you that had their face pressed up against the window!

Cheers,

It might mave been Ren you spotted. I would have been covered by the Engines, Row 8 seat A. Ren was 9 A.

I remebered that woman singing today and burst out laughing in work 😀
