More importantly… was your mind your own?
😀
ps: tried to find a less-childish emoticon than the options present on this new version of the board, but gave up and used a standard.

Stupid to you maybe. But the show wasn’t aimed at you. Understand the museum has the purpose to conserve and to educate.
The intended audience for that show are the children for whom the Gulf War is something they only know about from history lessons. What hope for WW2 unless it can be put over in an engaging way?
Moggy,(#3) agree with you about previous lighting. The results with proper gear are good enough for me
Thank you.
I shot that with the simplest of compacts, using a handy railing on the audience seating as a make-do tripod. Nothing fantastic in photocompetition terms, but captures the essence of the display for me. Rivet-counting pictures? Not my style or within my capabilities.

Does this mean they’ve finally binned that stupid show?

So are these appointments for photo days available for just anyone to just phone up and book?

The little LED lights are still there, I think someone forgot to switch off the cleaning lights. Must have been your lucky day.
MOTAT in Auckland has variable lighting (i.e. the overall light level varies from day to day), with the brightest being marked something like ‘Cleaning Lighting’. As aircraft have been moved into or assembled in the expanded exhibition area, I’ve taken advantage of the higher lighting to get better photos with my DSLR (without tripod).

I do hope this is a permanent lighting situation. 🙂

Fantastic set of images SE5AFAN… all the Luftwaffe types are now linked to the LEMB too :eagerness:
If ever I needed another excuse to visit and take my brothers youngest (pending confirmation that this wasn’t just a one-off) then this was it 😉
Cheers

At last! Last time I was there I didn’t even bother to try and take photos.
