Maybe this isn’t the right place for this post. Maybe it contravenes the Code of Conduct, but here it is anyway……
I was shopping in Morrisons today and I saw a book. Didn’t have time to look at it but thought what the hell, it’s only £2.99 and 75p from each sale goes to Help for Heroes.
A pleasant hour’s reading I thought, I’ll dip into it after tea. I’m 49 now, and I know I’ve always been a sentimental old fool but I couldn’t read more than the first few pages, I couldn’t see for the tears.
We see the repatriation ceremonies through Wootton Bassett and read and hear of the activities of our armed forces through the media. But here’s what it means to the children whose parents go away to fight and sometimes die for this Country. I think it may take me a while to get through this book. I think it may also cost me a few tissues.

Kev
Thanks for bringing that to our attention!
Everyone should buy one.
Its a subject close to my heart, I suppose, as one of my sons has served in Iraq and is quite shortly due to go to Afghanistan.
I will spread the word as widely as I can.
