The Lyneham Comet

Following on from the thread regarding the likely fate of the Kinloss Nimrod gate guardian, does anyone have any news on the situation of “Sagittarius” the Comet C2 gate guardian at Lyneham?

A bit of Lyneham Comet 2 Gate Guard trivia I can say that I spent Boxing Day 1966 installing new rubber fuel tanks in this aircraft with a hang-over.

Anybody who has installed these rubber fuel cells in Comet 2’s will know what a barsteward of a job it was with or without a hang-over. 😀
