Evening all,
Spent the first of two days at VL today or the arrivals day. On paper, it had the potential to be a corker, but instead turned out to be a little indifferent, with the Aeronavale’s spectacular arrival straight into their display being the undoubted highlight of a fairly slow and relatively uneventful day, in terms of the foreign participation at least. The 40th anniversary of the Lynx is the main theme of the show, and there was plenty of Lynx action today, with so many airframes up I lost count! I’ll be adding some images of them and the other RN helos in due course, but my first instalment to the thread is of the fast jets and exotica that arrived today. Unfortunately, with the arrival of the MiGs yesterday, I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to shoot them, so here’s the remaining fast jets that’ll be on show tomorrow. The French jets were awesome, with the Rafale nudging the sound barrier in one pass, resulting in a fair old bang!

More superb pix. Thanks for a nice catch of the Polish MiG – it looks great.

Thanks chaps, very kind of you all.
With a bunch of shots from Legends now added to my workload, I thought it best to crack on and edit the rest of my Yeovilton shots before getting stuck into them. So here’s a final selection of shots., plenty more on my Flickr

Seamus, absolutely stunning photo’s! Nice to see a Mig-29 on the air show circuit again, haven’t seen one for a long time!

Very nice shots. My favourites in this set are the German F-4, the Polish MiG and the Super Etendard – some rare sights.
Thanks.

They are all nice but that last one is my favourite though.

Love the last shot, very atmospheric. And of course the Vulcan/Vixen flypast. Great shots.

Cheers chaps
Today’s show was absolutely mega. I’ve gone through a few of the many, many shots I took from on base today. There’ll be more to follow, but I need some much needed sleep ahead of Legends tomorrow, so here’s a handful of edits for now.

Apart from it being French the Etendard is still a good looking machine.

Nice pics of the F4,, i didnt know the Luftwaffe was still flying them. Last one of those i ran into was at Edwards in Ca. the USAF had painted it in US markings to not attract attention for some reason but the crew readily admited who they were so kind of a moot point.
