The Most Pretty Combat Aircraft in Your Eyes

This thread is not for a list of nice-looking aircraft or a list of beautiful aircraft in history.
What I mean PRETTY here is that any part of the aircraft we listed here just designed as what’s supposed to be or where it should to be.

I don’t know how to use English to express what am I going to say, maybe example will tell everything.

Mitsubishi ki-83
This is the aircraft with no record but it is a such aircraft which gives you a standard impression.

Martin B-26 Marauder
With cigar-shaped airframe and normative wing, it is a standard picture for propeller airplane. Certainly, if there is no turret on back, it will be better.

Primarily, De Harviiland Mosquito was in my list, but since I found ki-83, the forward swept back-edge of its wing looks not so demure.

Do you have your instance?

The Avia B-35/135 looks like the Spitfires ugly deformed half sister.

What about a cross between a 109 and a spitfire after some up close and personal dogfighting :highly_amused:

I’d say the Fokker G-1 Mercury :eagerness: – and a little younger – the Mirage IIIc

Well, it did become the Nimrod and was kind of a combat aircraft!

Prototype/Early B.1 Vulcan
Victor B.1
Baby Spit (naturally)
Hawker Fury
Supermarine Scimitar
F-101 two-seat variants
Two-seat Jaguar
Mirage IV
FW-200 Condor
Vega Gull (OK, not a “combat aircraft”)

I also have a real soft spot for the Gladiator. Not everyone’s idea of beauty but to me it just looks “right”.

Baby Spit for sure, looks right.
Camel,
Mossie,
Mustang,

I will have another think.

TA

Personally I prefer the looks of the Griffon engine big tail Spitfires and Seafires.
But if we are talking pretty, then the Sopwith Pup edges it from the Camel!

I love the Mustang, but “pretty”?

I don’t think that you can go past the Spitfire.

Cheers

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Nakajima Ki-43 Oscar, followed by the Hawker Fury (biplane) and the round top rudder early MkIX Spitfire.

Although there is a very special place in my heart for the AW Ape. 😀
