Hi All,
Rather than resurrecting the old thread I thought I’d create a new one! I’ll start with a few shots from a festival I’ve just worked over the weekend. I’ve done this gig for around 12 years now and it’s steadily grown year by year, and this one was the biggest yet. My job was to mix front of house sound for the bands who weren’t carrying touring engineers, so I did probaby 10 bands over the 3 days. All good fun!
The view from my PM5-D mixing desk before the first day (Friday) starts. There’s still a bit of green stuff down there!

Something like 60,000 watts of L’Acoustics V-DOSC made me a happy sound engineer!

Calvin Harris doing his thing, and sounding remarkably like Pendulum at times!

And from the FoH tower…

Doves, rather backlit!

The analogue master desk that the band desks were fed into and where the splits to the main system and broadcast/recording feeds came from. We had a few toys on this gig!

On festivals like this there’s usually a tower built in the middle of the audience to house sound and lighting desks, cameras and other bits, so I took a wander up to the top level where the lighting and video guys resided while The Zutons were on.

Looking back from the tower, showing one of the PA delay arrays and a few more people!

The view from behind my desk while mixing The Futureheads:

And finally… A bit of mud! All good fun!

And just for fun, a very brief video from one of the earlier bands on (I think) Saturday. My fingers look even fatter on video!

So let’s see more non-aviation photos! 😀
