The OFMC P40

Yes, the Corsair was sold in about April to a new owner in Masterton or thereabouts, as it is now based at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton. Thankfully it is back in NZ for at least a while. 🙂

The LA-9 was also reported as up for sale. Not sure if it has been bought yet. That would be a rare thing to snap up, and no doubt worth a packet of dough, so I doubt it’ll stay in NZ. It’ll probably go to the states I guess.

Dave… do I take it from your post that the OFMC corsair has been sold? I must have missed something over the last week (too much football I guess!) and didn’t hear about that. Who was the corsair sold to, and when?

I did hear that the P40 was going to be converted to a dual control aircraft. They would make the cocpit a bit larger so that a second person can get inside the plane in a easy way.

I think Ray has always believed that the P-40 belongs in NZ, in the same way that MH434 belongs here.

Unless of course someone such as Breitling wants to pay for it to be in Europe….

Perhaps Ray is having it changed to dual control so as to be able to use the a/c for type rating training programs such as Stallion51, but for the P-40, maybe in conjuction with Pioneer Aero…?????????

I would be surprised to see Ray part with it, he loves that aircraft, but you never know.
