A long film around it.

I saw the fan inside the cowling ring actually rotates faster that the prop ?
How was that operated ? Why was it introduced ?
What other revolutional details did that Kurt Tank design have ?

Good luck Mr Gorski?
Neil says something cryptic.

As I said before: Such courage, enthusiasm and perseverance; akin to missionaries. I’ve read and heard the idiom ‘doing the Lord’s work’ many times, used to describe an uphill, if not altogether impossible, task.
Well isn’t that what everyone is trying to do ? What did Leonardo da Vinci, Otto Lilienthal, The Wright brothers, Mozart….even JFK wanted to do ? Doing things not because they are easy but because they are hard. What did Neil Armstrong say to new astronauts ?

Not at all, I just don’t get the connection.
I think Meddle lives in a parallel universe – so I wouldnt worry about it too much LOL

Discussing at length (with nobody) that an axis aircraft was actually alright? Asking the sort of questions about aircraft construction that often get exasperated and snarky responses… then answering your own questions… On a forum that barely has a good word to say about US aircraft, let alone any other non-British type?
Such courage, enthusiasm and perseverance; akin to missionaries. Almost.
Not many people are going to argue against the 190 being a very good aircraft Meddle – keep takin the pills and relax 😉

I’m guessing you are a Christian with a victim complex?

The cleverest part of the FW 190 was the Kommandogerat which automatically adjusted propeller pitch, rpm and mixture control according to the throttle position selected by the pilot. Virtually an early computer.
That is clever…like the computer on Apollo…small but practical.
I never knew about this. Thanks for informing us.

Admirable and very interesting, but not in need of the epithet.

I always liked the D-9.
And here’s a 1/48th A-5 model that I built recently….

Hello Meddle !
I am a monk if you’d see how I live yes.
Just wanna share some light to these “evil” nazi designs as they posses some pretty clever engineering as well.
I like to read correct information also in the future.
BTW: the FW-190 D had very hard absorbers and if you landed it too roughly it could turn upside down…also recovery from a stall in Langnase was pretty complicated procedure…even lethal.
rgds,
Juke
PS: There is also a chance that I wouldn’t be here typing if these oberst Kurt Kuhlmey FW-190As hadn’t been around to help us in 1944.

You’re doing the Lord’s work here, Topspeed!
Great pictures, but ‘the lords work’ … ?
