I went to a memorial service in woodhall spa today, a day of rememberance. A number of ex bomber crew(617) were also present, for me it was emotional to see these guys drying tears remembering friends lost.
On the way home i bought a paper and in it i read stories of people being refused to sell poppies outside some shops and people refusing to wear one because of there views on iraq. Is it right not to remember the people that fought for the freedom we have so that you can have your own views. What if in summer 1940 we said sod it we are not fighting someone elses war, what freedom would we have now. Maybe im just angry at the state this country is gettin in.
