The Questions Thread

All you wanted to know but afraid to Ask:

I was looking for relevant threads to post a basic question about aircraft, but I could not find any. Thus a thread to post questions about aircraft in general, be it basic questions or higher level aerodynamics that does not fit in other threads.

Mods please feel free to merge with any other appropriate thread if needed.

Here are my thoughts:
Please post questions as clearly and specific as possible, and please post answers short and concise.

Let a question have no more than 3 posts as answers, that way we would not be dwelling in one question too much. That would just kill the thead.
The idea is that if a question entailed more than three responses, it probably (hopefully) is very interesting and merits a thread by itself.

Question:
About the length of the aircraft:

Does the published length of aircrafts such as MiG-29, F-16, Mirage 2000, etc… include the nose probe or it is the length of the airframe without the nose probe?

Examples:
MiG-29: 17.32m
Mirage 2000: 14.63m
F-16: 15m

Could the educated members please clarify? Thanks.
