I’m delighted, overjoyed and ecstatic to tell you that yesterday I become the youngest ever successful applicant to train for my ATPL at Oxford Aviation Training!!!
At the age of 17 years and 4 months exactly I was informed that I had been accepted to train as a first officer, the previous youngest successful applicant was 19 for the course that I will be taking.
I’ll start my training in July next year and will graduate in September 2005.
I’d just like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on this forum for all your support over the past weeks and months, each and everyone of you has helped me to achieve my life long dream. I’ve learnt so much from all of you and I hope to see some of you onboard some of my flights, or even on the flight deck with me 🙂
Thanks guys!
A truly elated Martin Halstead!

Sorry to be so late replying but I have just come back from holiday.
Well done Martin. I have to say I’m not surprised as you have shown you have the right qualities all the way through the preparation for each stage. I’ll talk more in a PM.
Regards
wys

Thanks so much guys! My training is entirely self-sponsored, sponsorship is few and fair between these days sadly. But I couldn’t have selected a better place to train, they probably offer the best training in Europe 😀
As an aviation lover for my entire life I’m sure you can all imagine this is a dream come true, it has been my main focus for the past 11 years of my 17 on this earth.
Thanks for all your support, it has really helped in so many different ways. I’ll keep you all updated on my path to the right hand seat!
