I had not heard much about this until I stumbled across this story today..

..and it is on BBC on Sunday as well, yet another atempt to make motor racing interesting again, I really think this one might work!

Watched it live on Motors TV.Comentary by two very enthusiastic guys, shame about the loss of picture for a short while.
Watched it again on the Beeb later in the day.Much more enjoyable.Starting with the good old Fleetwood Mac F1 Theme tune,The Chain. Then Mr Murray Walker. He walked away from comentating years ago and, over the years, has had many offers,by various companies,to return.”Same old, same old” was his reason.
Untill now. These new races are something he championed for years ago,so when the oportunity arose,he jumped at the chance.
Although the picture coverage was the same on both TV stations, the race itself was much more enjoyable listening to “The Voice” of motor racing.82 years young and still as enthusiastic as he and we were, when we first “got the bug”.

I agree – I enjoyed it too!
We watched the Motors TV coverage, and the two presenters seemed to be blown away that they were actually able to commentate on their heroes!

I’d like to see how the modern drivers would’ve coped without all the technology.
Some names were a real blast from the past and it all seemed quite friendly. I quite enjoyed it.

This smacks of retired boxers returning to the ring,i hope for their sakes they still have the reactions to handle these cars safely.

If you can get Motors TV you will be able to see it live tomorrow morning – coverage starts at 11.25 with the race due at 12.00. 🙂
I presume you know who has pole?
