I just found this over on WiX.
Taigh Ramey and his team at Vintage Aircraft have just rescued a Harpoon that has been sitting for some 16 years, and flown it home.
Bloody good effort I say!

Well done and amazing what a group can do with a can do attitude.Reminds me of a P51 Mustang they flew out of the desert down at Woomera back in the 70,s.

What a superb recovery, it must be great fun to achieve something like that. What would be the UK equivalent? A Wellington from Predannack perhaps, or maybe a Beaufort dumped at a farm strip somewhere in Somerset?

That was a great thread and an incredible effort, must admit I wouldn’t do it though, the thought of an engine failure after take off scared me even from home!

What a tremendous achievment! That location is quite remote for flying her out as well. Excellent videos and great job saving another rare one too!!

Absolutely wonderful! Not a type I was familiar with before, but a classic American good looker in my mind!
What a great story. Thanks Bruce.

Fantastic stuff, this is what some groups used to do but in todays overly cautious world dosen’t seem to happen very often.
Good luck to them for the resto!
