The Royal Family!!!!!!

The royql family

I want to know whether people feel that the royal family are a waste of money. Should we scrap them and use the money more wisely? I am tired of people saying, “The queen works so hard.” But at the end of the day all she really does is shake hands with people and go round England and call it work. TAX goes to keeping that family, and do they seem worthy of it, I think not!!
I used to sit on the fence when it came to deciding whether or not the royal family should be scraped until recently when I heard a news presenter say, after the Jubilee anniversary that “The queen would now be going home and having a well deserved holiday.” Well I’m sorry but if you don’t call touring around a country a holiday, I don’t know what one is!!!
Mind you perhaps the government won’t have a referendum because if people did want to scrap the royal family, they’d have to find some other way of wasting millions of pounds!
Even if you are reading this in a country without a King/Queen tell me what you think, you may even wish that you did have one.

Another problem that I have the queen is that she refers to us as her subjects, and I feel that this is demeaning, she hasn’t done any work to reach her position she was just born to it. The queen can’t say she has more power than us becuase she doesn’t have any authourity, she is just a puppet to the government that is in power! She can’t even write her own speech every year.
Too many times the queen babbles on about life in England, but what does she know? I think it might do the family some good living in a run down council estate, to see how hard life really is for many people who live in England.

Or maybe he will end up getting absolutely plastered on shandy and shown the error of his ways by being forced to wear a kilt the way it is supposed to be worn…;)

Meanwhile the monarchy and ‘king’ Tony will carry on as if nothing unusual was happening.

No, No, you have it all wrong. The wee Suffolk laddy will garner much respect and be courted by all of Scotland, made honorary king, and plied with several rounds of strong beer.

I believe Lowestoft will be sacked in March next year by an invading army of hairy arsed Picts !:D Prisoners will be taken and marched to Glasgow where they will be forced to buy several rounds of strong lager at a musical venue in the East End.

You lot aren’t having a King – that’s an English thing. We’ll put that wall back up and pillage the lot of you.

The Barrowlands will be brought down to Lowestoft.

Restore the monarchy and get rid of the so-called democracy we have here. Place William on the thrown and bring back the sword.

I dont get it. First you say that they arent really working and shouldnt be supported. And now you say they they should just be public servents.

Mixtec.

“I think the Royal family should be scraped, but on behalf of the Royals not the British tax payers. They are celebritys, and I think they should start charging for their celebrity status. That means no more free interviews, no more free public appearances.”

If they are celebrities then by definition they are open to public scrutiny. Free public appearances? Well, they certainly get enough money from the Civil List to cover their ‘fees.’

“In the past the Royals have publicly opened up about their private lives to the press. This has surely helped them as far as popularity as world celebritys, but I think it has also ruined their marriages, and made it impossible to pursue ANYTHING in private, whether it be friendships or hobbys or what have you.”

Quite true. They do pursue their hobbies. Hunting, Polo, Shooting, Fishing, Adultery….. It is in some cases their pursuit of ‘private interests’ that has ensured the breakdown of marriages.

“The Royals should take their money that their family has earned. And if you read British history, no royal family has had a greater positive impact on a nation than the British Royal Family, so its THEIR MONEY AND PROPERTY that they should take untaxed.”

Please, come on. The Royal Family has in the past been a strong and positive influence, but not any more. During the Second World War the King, George VI, refused to evacuate his family to Canada, He and the Queen Mother were at Buckingham Palace when it was bombed, the Queen Mother said after the bombing “Now I can look the people of the East End in the eye,” those are positive influences. The present lot lack character and humility. Yes, I support a Royal Family, but the generations now in the public eye are making a mockery of it. Windsor Castle had a fire a few years ago. Its restoration was paid for by the British taxpayer, not the Royal Family, yet the public are charged an exorbitant price to visit the place.

“Then should all go and pursue their private lives and bussiness in the private sector so that they can become proud citizens of the UK, and live off their own profit.”

As opposed to living off the profits of others? As the Royal Family doesn’t that imply that they should be among the proudest anyway? They should be public servants, not the other way around.

Ha! You say that, but then you are not another corgi, cowering from your owners daughters hound from hell…
Prince Philip would have the right idea. Give the blighter both barrels!

On a more serious note who would launch ships, attend charity premiers, open national museums, etc? Would anyone care if ‘chummy’ Blair were to be guest of honour at some West End cinemas gala opening? Would you line the streets and cheer your town mayor if he/she visited the old folk in the local hospital? Would the national press be at all bothered about covering a civil servants state visit to another country?
If you can answer that ‘yes; you are interested’ to any of these questions then you are a sad bugger and should be institutionalised ASAP.
Personally I don’t care, but then I wouldn’t want to do their job either. Imagine going to old buildings, hopitals, museums, etc, and believing that they always smell of fresh paint.

Well Hurricane, speaking of special animals, doesnt prince Harry (whatever his name is) going to ranch in Australia so he can experience some kind of normal life seem kind kind of pathetic. I mean if a normal rich person wanted to have fun in Australia, they would just get in their private jet, fly over, then drive all over the countryside and see and experience all the things there are to do there. But no, it takes millions of dollars and planning just to get this prince to go over and ride horses and what not in this one ranch. He is a ranch animal. He cant leave that compound, he can only jerk around by himself and go slowly mad like his Dad. Yeah, thats quite a life.
