Looks like the beginning of the end for these RYR 737’s. 2 getting scrapped and another 3, including the Jaguar and Kilkenny ones looking as if they’re next 🙁

There has been a long term rumour that when the Ryanair 737-200 in “Hertz” colours is withdrawn the Airline will paint up a 737-800 in similar style to continue to promote Hertz due to their tie up with the Rental company so maybe we will see a logojet again once the -200’s are gone for good.
When I last visited Dublin in September “Hertz” was still flying so I presume it still will be unless it is withdrawn from service at Dublin.
It was a pity Ryanair gave up painting a Santa plane for Christmas a few years ago, would be nice if they did it again for this one.
Fred.
The first time I flew FR in 2001, I flew the Hertz one. Very nice.

i know this may sound stupid but! can you not buy these aircraft? or ask to get some bits for e.g. cockpit projects??
They’ve all been sold to Auto Direct Aviation for spare parts.

Like most airframes, you can only wring so many cycles out of them before they start costing more and more dollars to keep in the sky

hopefully they’ll remove it before 14th Dec as i would be rather embarressed in front of my mates if that pulled up to take us to Dublin!
I would be rather embarrassed if ANY Ryanair plane turned up to take me anywhere! :dev2:

The hertz aircraft is now looking in a real bad way with blue panels on the engines, cargo door and a white nose, with patchy yellow skin on the rest of the fuselage – hopefully they’ll remove it before 14th Dec as i would be rather embarressed in front of my mates if that pulled up to take us to Dublin!
