The Shoreham Aircraft Museum opens for the 2004 season this Sunday, 11th April

The Shoreham Aircraft Museum, Shoreham Village, Kent, will be kicking off its 2004 season on Easter Sunday, 11th April & will then be open every Sunday until the end of September (10am to 5pm).

We’re not big, but as they say size doesn’t count, & you’ll be amazed at what you’ll find on display. No aircraft, but the fruits of our many excavations can be seen, along with relics ‘souvineered’ in 1940′ by members of the public, and subsequently donated to us. We also have RAF & Luftwaffe uniforms, Home front memorabilia & much more. Not to mention our world famous tearoom.

There’s also the chance to see, and buy prints (many with BoB veterans signatures) by our curator, aviation artist Geoff Nutkins.

Shoreham village bosts no less than four pubs, so why not combine a visit to the museum with a pub lunch! We also have nearby, at the airfield, the famous St Georges RAF Chapel of Rememberance.

You can visit our website by clicking on the link below. We’re also featured in the FlyPast issues Sept & November 2003.

Robbo, Andy & ‘Mrs Andy’,

Thanks for the write-up 🙂

As always, it was nice to be able to chat face-to-face, rather than through a keyboard.

I’m only at the museum one week in three, so if anyone does want to see me when they visit the museum (!!!!), let me know, & I can tell you which days I’ll be there.

I told you the raffle prize was worth having a go on 🙂

Geoff.

I had a very enjoyable nose around the museum this afternoon. There’s a wealth of artifacts large and small – too much to take-in in a single visit. I was very surprised to see a large chunk of “Black 6” on the wall.

It was nice to chat to “Andy in Beds” and Mrs “Andy in Beds” over a cup of tea – look forward to seeing you soon at Old Warden.

If you’ve not been to the museum, it’s well worth a look around.

Last year’s prize in full. The one by me would have been the 2002 1st prize.

There certainly is a prize this year, it’s well worth having a go, but you’ll have to come & see what it is 😀

Rob, the less tickets I sell, the more chance I have of winning 😉

Amazing relics from a Ju88 crash site, including both engine, and one of the mainwheels, complete with tyre!
