The spirit of adventure lives

If you wanted to fly from Brazil to South Africa, how would you get there? North? Fernando tavares and Mike Buser have their own way… They turned south, round Cape Horn, then up the west coast of America. before heading east along the Canadian border, then heading for Greenland and Iceland.

They stopped off at Perth last weekend on their way south, after a 9 hour crossing from Iceland to Wick on Friday.

On Sunday they left for York before heading to France on Monday.

Zenair 701 ?? Buttock-clenchingly STOL but what a performer. That one must be a flying fuel tank, to do 9 hour legs.

What a fantastic adventure, and just proves that little aeroplanes CAN go places. Suddenly, Popham doesn’t seem very far any more!
