I get hypoxic over 1500ft. The fuel burn does drop a bitif I go higher. I use 300 lts/hr for simple planning purposes on short trips. [My T-28 ran 200 lts/hr using same settings and I used to plan 120gph on my B-25]. I also cruise at 2000rpm sometimes. The engine loves it. We flew her 12 hours the other week and used only 5 galls of oil. My engine is a JRS overhaul with 260 hrs TSO. I had my TBM certified with a max takeoff weight of 5700kgs [12500 lbs] which is fine with full fuel and three pob. This allows unrestricted operations into most airports and the use of GA taxyways etc etc.

Oscar, looks like you are running 30 l on the rich side, unless its all at lo level.
The owner of the one I occasionally fly had the carb ohd`d in USA a couple of years ago, as the diaphragms were old/brittle,and fuel and oil were excessive;once it was all matched up, it runs sweet as a nut..original motor as fitted in `45…….

It-Hvd.. rpm boost f/c all at weak mixture
1800 26 26 plot a box for inter power.
1400 26 18 all x 4.55 for ltrs.
18 22 22
16 22 19
14 22 15
18 18 17.5
16 18 16
14 18 13 Hope these are useful .

I’m not sure I got it right mate, this chart is for the T-6 or TBM? What u said about the conversions?

OK I’ll try and answer my own question..

🙂

Whats the MTOM of the TBM? Is it over 12,000kg??

Take a look at the bottom of Page 4 (the table).

http://europa.eu.int/eur-lex/pri/en/oj/dat/2004/l_138/l_13820040430en00010006.pdf

If it is then it will need 80,000,000SDRs 3rd party cover (approx £65m.) as of the 30th April this year.

The B25’s and B17’s must also be impacted by this new reg??

It is mine>>300lts/hr in the cruise @ 180kts [plus oil].

gosh, the T-6 burn around 120lts/hr in economical cruise and something 0,25lt/hr of oil.. What’s the cost of avgas there chaps? we reached (and I think passed)the 2,1 € per liter..

Oscar, what power are you running? I use 1650/25/26″”, gives about 145 kts and 180l/hr + 1 gal oil; you can trim it out, have a few `zzzzz`s` and it`ll still be upright when you wake-up!!!!!!! Syc

Sorry, no pics as the scanners u/s, but I`m sure there`s one or two on a Shuttleworth thread……….

Oscar Duck, out of plain curiosity, how many hours of maintenance is needed per hour flying time on an aircraft such as this?

OK I know lots of half facts, can anyone else help out with the exact facts!!

I know with the new rules re 3rd party insurance that aircraft with MTOW of, I think, 12,500lbs (kgs??) will need to carry £66m (66m Euro???) insurance.

Does this new rule impact the European TBM population??
