A forum poser !! What aircraft would members most like as their personnal corporate warbird transport ? For reasons of practicality the choice is limited to no larger than twin engine types.
To make the decision easier the machine will have no previous ‘history’ so modify at will !

I’ll take a good old C-47 Skytrain any day of the week.
How can you not just LOVE the Gooney Bird?

For me it would have to be a DOUGLAS A-26 “INVADER”, and I notice that Courtesy Aircraft have an ONMARK EXECUTIVE CONVERSION for sale according to a web search I just did.
Hmmm, now can I save up in time for Xmas, and where can I find a B-I-G stocking!!!

RE: The Ultimate Corporate Warbird !
Hi folks,
In terms of corporate warbirds already in existance,I think I’d probably go with a Cavalier Mustang.Ok,so it’s a bit cramped and it can get a bit like a greenhouse under that teardrop hood, but you’ve got sound proofing and carpets,…oh and full aerobatic capability, decent endurance and a top speed in excess of 400mph!On second thoughts I think I’d remove the soundproofing! 🙂 A close second would be the Hughes 500 conversion of the Ventura.
In terms of true fantasy types,I think a Canberra would be pretty awesome. The aura of a warbird, and the performance of an A320!

RE: The Ultimate Corporate Warbird !
Sounds a good choice to me! Certainly the Lodestar (her close relation) was a more than acceptable corporate machine so the is no reason why the Hudson shouldn’t be just as good !

RE: The Ultimate Corporate Warbird !
For me the ultimate corporate warbird has to be the Lockheed Hudson. It has sufficent room for about 8 people in good comfort, reasonable speed and sufficent range to get from my litle corner of the world down to Europe. Another good point being it’s REASONABLE simplicity and the engines are still around in some numbers, so keeping it flying should not be too much of a problem from the maintainance perspective.
Of course it would be completely original, at least in external appearance (slight modification might be needed to meet airwothiness requerments) and it would be painted in the colours of No.269 Squadron RAF Coastal Command when based at RAF Station Kaldaðarnes in 1941.
How does this sound as the Ultimate Corporate Warbird?

Galdri
Now….Where can I find an Hudson for sale????
