The Vauxhall Victor Camper car

The camping conversion doesn’t appear to be a British initiative. All the cars in the photo are LHD, including the said Victor.

Most inventors make do with what they have at hand, so that was probably the family car, assuming he had a family! 😉

I don’t think that model Victor was the most stable car to begin with. Putting a camping conversion on one defies belief.

I think the design fault lays in the drunken wee stagger late at night,It was bad enough with the guide rope effing and jeffing with out the 6 foot fall.

Yes…May’s was the closest to this original and Clarkson’s was the “house on wheels” and Hammond’s was the fully extendable “mansion” if memory serves…….:)

Top Gear emulated the concept in the last series I believe
