The whole BST UTC thingy

Hi,

Since we are not BST isnt this UTC-1 since the UK changed to +1 for BST? Confusing to say the least but also do ALL countries change to +1 hour (as we did on sunday) if not why not and who doesnt!

Its the most confusing thing ive come across in aviation lol!

The 3 states I mentioned stay with the same time all year around. I have no idea why they never change. Perhaps Arizona and Hawaii don’t change because they typically have great weather all year around so they like to maximize sunlight by never going off daylight savings. Indiana, however, doesn’t have similar weather patterns to the aforementioned states, so I don’t know.

Dosen’t UTC just use GMT, which the UK uses in Winter, but not in Summer (when it’s on BST)?

The U.S. (except Hawaii, Arizona, and Indiana) all goes +1 hour effective next week. The Southern Hemisphere goes -1 hour, but they might have done so this last weekend.
