…rsp. on the skin of this Vickers Virginia (aircraft identified with the help of theareodrome.com) rear gun station. Is anybody able to tell what it should read? Picture is from the Krul archive.

It’s a 9 Sqn aeroplane which carried the names of ancient Kings and Queens of Wessex. Two others were Caedwalla of Wessex and Caldwalla of Wessex when the Sqn was part of the Wessex Bombing Area circa 1928.

The clue came from the ‘O’ below the top name and the ‘WE’ below that.
