Hello from Detroit, This is my first post, here goes! π
In 1981, The Yankee Air Museum was started by a small group of people that shared the common goal to preserve the aviation history in Michigan. A brief history of a small and proud Museum and its Air Force!

Hi Steven
Good to see your posting and I’m just so glad the museum’s fighting back after the fire.
I’ll never forget the cheerful welcome I received about ten years ago when I loomed up out of the darkness at about 3pm on a January Saturday afternoon, convinced the Museum would be closed.
Come to think of it, apart from the volunteers I was the only visitor, which makes the welcome even greater!
Good luck with the fundraising!!

Thanks guys π
Roger,
Any plans for a return trip? Thunder Over Michigan is coming up in July. This year theme is “Mitchell Madness”

Hiya FAR148 and welcome.
I had the pleasure of visiting the YAM in November 2002. Regrettably my schedule for the day slipped and got there only about 30 mins before closing π‘
However much enjoyed what I saw – especially the AW Argosy. It was built only a few miles from home.

Good to hear that the Yankee Air museum is doing well. I have fond memorΓes (and some nice pictures) of my tour through the Yankee Lady at the 1996 Geneseo Air show.

Nice to see the new plans! The fire really was a giant disaster π
