It sounds a bit more planned than opportunistic this does.

Sadly this was my first thought. You can get CCTV systems pretty cheaply nowadays, sad that museums should have to invest in them though..

As for the thieves, one can only hope karma catches up with them. Preferably with a cricket bat….

Exactly why I thought very carefully before I made my comment.

Who ever did this is beneath contempt. If I say any more the swear filter would delete most of it!

Unfortunatly this happens. Apedale mining museum had a Mines Rescue Service medal taken from a display by a casual volunteer, they didnt know it was gone until my father spotted it on ebay (was a local colliery issue, frustratingly the medals owner is also a volunteer at the same museum) it was recovered and that person who took it wasnt allowed in the museum anymore.

Hope they recover the medals and catch/prosecute the person(s) responsible.

It sounds a bit more planned than opportunistic this does. If nothing else it would be worth other museums keeping small valuables better locked up.

Hope they recover the items.

When are we going to get some politicians with the guts to dish out proper punishments and slap down the dogooders, not forgetting the grasping lawyers.

Shameful especially as Rememberance Sunday is approaching. Still we must be mindful of their human rights if and when they are arrested.

If they can’t abide by the laws of the state they don’t have any rights as far as I’m concerned. Unless it’s the right to be castrated with a rusty pair of pliers.

Sadly hanging by the testes would still be not punishment enough if ever these toe rags are caught.
