What did the Star Wars movies and the USAAF have in common?

If you’re both a Star Wars and Family Guy fan, I thoroughly recommend buying:

Funniest spoof of the film I’ve ever seen!

no – that was R2D2. C3PO could speak

err k9 was from Dr Who – C3PO was the other robot in Star Wars
Many thanks Paul, I promise to try harder in future.
Did C3PO make an odd whistling noise?

That’s because some of Lucas’ inspiration for the “trench run” scene were World War 2 films:
And much of the ‘dogfighting in space’ in the original movie was choreographed based on the big battle sequences from BoB

Here is a picture of an Imperial Storm Trooper
😀 Thanks, but although I’ve never seen a Star Wars film, it would have been impossible not to have seen photos and trailers over the years.
I remember R2D2 and K9 from years ago.
I gather that my education is sadly lacking on this subject, but thankfuly I’ve managed to survive reasonably well without it.

Thanks for being the only one to have a go instead of wandering off into Startroopers territory. But if you had noticed, I deliberately put USAAF not USAF!
Gun turrets is the answer (B17 and so on). Every time they were zapping the enemy, I couldn’t help thinking of WWII gun turrets…

Probably can’t see out. I couldn’t when I was dressed as Peter Rabbit.
D’you think there is a small tunnel that just happens to lead right into the central power unit?

I think the armour might be interfering with their aim.

No Storm Trooper has ever been seen to survive an aimed shot from an opponent.
The b****rs can’t shoot straight, either. 😎

As someone who’s never seen a Star Wars movie, could you explain?
Here is a picture of an Imperial Storm Trooper

You will note that he is wearing a natty line in body armour.
Unfotunately it is body armour that doesn’t appear to actually be made out of er… armour.
It requires just one shot from a rebel alliance ray gun, a glancing blow from a light sabre or a full on hit from Just William’s catapult for the Imperial Storm Trooper to become an Imperial Corpse.
No Storm Trooper has ever been seen to survive an aimed shot from an opponent.
There seems to be a design issue somewhere.

Word of advice, old chap. As much as I detest the Star Wars franchise in general, make sure that if you do watch any, make it episodes IV-VI.
Don’t ask questions 😉

You have got to be ****ting me?! 😮
Why?

The body armour is on top of a body suit, the 2 together make a pressure suit so a stormtrooper can surive in the vacuum of space for a short time. The Armour contains breathing system/equipment,comlink utility belt.

I have no idea.
But can somebody explain why the Imperial Troopers wear full, white body armour that has never, in countless hours of Star Wars movies, ever been seen to work?

Makes you wonder how the hell they managed to conquer the galaxy, really!
