This is me

Hey im new to the forum the name is blair, im a captain for british airways virtual (not the real one), ive been flight simming since 1999 and have all the microsoft sims from 98 up to FSX.

So far ive clocked nearly 14,000 hours flight time in over 900 types of aircraft from tankers to cargo helos and fighters.

Im not the best pilot around i would never claim to be theres plenty people out there on FS that are alot better then me.

Right now i fly regional routes for BAV flying the RJ-100 which is the sucsessor to the BAe146, flying from london city mainly to frankfurt but other places as well.

Ive flown for a few airlines some including air canada air france monarch and swiss air lufthansa and few others.

I spent a long time in air canada about 4 years before i could get settled again in BAV i clocked over 8,000 hours for air canada mainly flying thier A330-300’s from toronto to frankfurt and back 8 hours there 9 back.

right now i have little time to fly although im with BAV i can no longer do massive long haul flights like i used to i only now manage five or six small 1.5 hour flights in the RJ100 this is due to the job and other things.

In real life im a dustman and love the work some great guys and good pay too, i enjoy it so im happy as can be.

I drive a rover 600 2.0litre SLi version around i love my car to bits!!!

Thats about me

happy reading 😀

Yes found a small parcel full of white poweder turned out to be pure cocaine, once found a live firing pistol, have had dead animals in sacks.

Other things found was once in london in edmunton where they incinderate the waste they found parts of a woman closer the whole lot down for 3 days !

You find alot of stuff good and bad its not uncommon to have needles (used ones) clinical waste or anything of that nature in a bin bag.

Lily Allen has just done a new version of that Joe Brown classic….

“My old man’s a dustman
He wears a dustmans hat
He wears cor blimey trousers
A big flouncy dress and a pair of huge white Nike trainers…”

Oh and welcome aboard Blair, I’m useless at flight simming.

Don’t you mean Lonnie Donegan??

Indeed it isn’t – especially if you are a fisherman as well, all those maggots free especially with the two-weekly bin collections.

Well my job is job and knock i get paid from 7am to 4pm as standard but if i finnish before 4pm thats a bonus, on an average day i will finnish at 1300 bad day is generaly 1430 a really good day is 1030 although ive had a few 0930’s.

I get paid £9.78ph if loading and £13.96ph if driving then add on the scrap money which can be about £30 each a week, other bits you find and sell say an easy £50 and tips if you got a good route like mine is i can average £300 a week in tips easy.

So its not all bad is it 😀

Oddly enough, I once applied to be a dustman, however a friend of mine told me it was a rubbish job, so I took it no further.

I have to fly the full 9 hours ive done flights longer like the 12 hour trek from EGLL to RJAA and the 15 hour from EGLL to VHHH have to do it at 1x due to ACARS otherwise it wont be valid on my flight reports.

Do you wear a dustman’s hat i do wear a hat sometimes
Do you wear cor blimey trousers Unfortunatly so
And do you live in a council flat not yet have done though

😀

But do you look a proper ‘nana, in your ‘obnail boots?

I assume you use the autopilot. Do you leave it on that while you sort out that virtually naughty little minx of a Chief Stewardess?

Trust you to lower the tone.:) She obviously asks him “Tell me is it too late? Nah, jump up on the cart!”!!

Yeah i do now cause ive got my car before it was near impossible to get around due to where i live and busses and trains ect, i go out nearly every night now hence why i only got time to do small regional flights no big long haul flights now days.

before i could drive i didnt really go out so i had plenty of time to do the long hauls now few and far between.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum Blair, yes some of us do have rather over active sense of humours. My speciallity is putting my foot in it big time (not very good with words LoL). I like u love flight sims and I actually had the original Microsnot one for the old SInclair QL!!! I dont fly for a VA as Im either building models, restoring a Canberra or being driven crazy by my 4yr old Demolition Expert. Bex

Don’t mind Steve, you will get used to his humour, welcome to the forum and you actually ‘fly’ for nine hours at a time on the sim? Are these real hours or speeded up? That’s right, I know nothing about the subject!
