This is a very, over-engineered way of ensuring the clean kill.

It is necessary to transfer as much of the energy generated by the charge into the target body as possible. This will do the job, but it’s overkill compared to a standard hollow-point.

It will just make the target twice as dead.

In some ways I find it fascinating, in technical sense. In Afganistan Apache Helicopters fire flachette rounds that supposedly can `sanitise` a football pitch area of ground.

Totally over the top. A seriously injured enemy is more of a liability to them than a dead one.(unless you are ISIS)

Do you think this type of weapon should be regulated some how. Like mines. I know it’s a contradiction when an arty round can slice you in half,
but these sort of weapons seem to evicerate (if that’s the right phrase) an enemy and not really what combat is all about.

What worries me about the R.I.P round is the kind of `gung ho` marketing.
They do realise these things are designed to kill human beings with, and while
I understand in war such things are necessary it does seem a little sick.
