I just have to share these clips from old Tomorrow’s World programmes.
If you can watch the geek speaking Morse code to a computer without laughing.you’ve got more self-control than I have.
If there was any particular item of technology you’d like to see invented, what would it be ?news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8253236.stm

What I miss about TW is that it showed you the initial prototypes. These days, we only see technology once it is proven and ready for market. It could be the fear of copyright protection but is more likely the fear of being wrong on TV. The morse code speaker was actually going down the right lines. “Machines” understood signal wavelength in a sort of morse form long before todays speach recognition. I once took home a magnetic tape from a numerically controlled machine tool….put it on the Reel-to-reel player at home. It sounded like a cross between Pink Floyd, Blue Oytster Cult and a dying cat, all coked out man.
