Thomson Fly @ Robin Hood!

Apparantly these are the routes ThomsonFly are set to fly from Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Finnigley International Airport! (Or whatever its called!)
Alicante
Amsterdam
Barcelona
Belfast
Ibiza
Jersey
Malaga
Marseilles
Naples
Florence
Nice
Palma-Majorca
Pisa
Prague
Rome
Salzburg
Valencia
Venice

They havent been announced on the website yet, but its been on the several news shows in the region.
Just 4 based a/c operating all these routes.. Would hate to have a delay!
For comparison Jet2 operate 11 routes from LBA with 6 a/c, and these a/c are pretty well utilised during the summer.
Good to see a few different destinations on there like Valencia,Salzburg,Florence,Pisa,Marseille, Naples. I wish Jet2 would fly more flights than Venice in Italy!

i am pritty curious about “Finningley” (it will always be in my book!). The routes on offer do look enticing, but it will be interesting to see who else puts pen to paper there. Ok so we know Thomsonfly will be operating, so will Britannia (sensing some sort of pattern here…) but who else at present?

Very interesting to read seem as Thomsonfly have only just started there first routes out of a controversial CVT. I would certainly be interested at some of the above routes though if the fares are right!

I think no one complains because there is no cause for confussion with Thompson-fly. They fly to Coventry, not Birmingham/Coventry, not London/Coventry and not Glasgow/Coventry. They are very blunt with where they fly to, they do not cover up the true destination as Ryanair do.

Where exactly is Sheffield? and how comes nobody complains about Thompson flying into secondary airports like they do Ryanair people live in the areas Ryanair fly into aswell.IM officially complaining.LOL.Its seems alot of destinations doesnt it are sure they are no the possibilities with a proper list being released soon-Naples and Salzburg sound a bit dodgy espeically during the summer.

Yep, its ex RAF. Haven’t seen any pictures but i’ve read somewhere that terminals been started to be built now and apparantly its like the new terminal at LPL only a bit smaller. I agree though thats a bit too many routes with 4 a/c!

Have the terminal and other essential facilities been built there yet? If so, are there any pics? I actually don’t know much about the airport at all, was it ex-RAF?

Florence is a nice one to see on there. I know that Meridiana fly there from London Gatwick, but the prices aren’t so great.

Overall, a nice selection of routes, but surely they’re taking on a bit too much at once with a fleet of just four aircraft?
