Flights depart Cardiff on tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday
I think it will most likely be operated by the 737-300 that is being based there this summer.
I wonder if anymore routes other than there usual summer charter routes like this will be anounced from other airports ?

CWL is a 733 and 752/762 base, with a 763 popping in to do SFB,POP and CUN.
POP ops via BFS/MAN or nonstop, depending on the date

When Thomsonfly announced the expansion plans for this summer a while ago, the CWL website quoted that a 737-800 would be based at the airport in addition to the 757 and intermittently a 767.

Unless the plans have recently been changed, it should be a -300.
When did you find this out Spence? Would be better if it is a -800 though!
But the CWL-JER is an Aer Arann ATR42, hopefully if the route is succesfull maybe they will upgrade to an ATR72

It’s a 737-800 being based here, not a 300 🙂

A couple of points:
1. TOM issued a press release on their website for this route but not for LTN-PRG, LTN-RAK, MAN-RAK, BOH-PRG etc
2. There is talk of this being done by Aer Arran on pprune
3. It should do OK. DSA-JER, while not doing great, is still appearing in TOM’s schedule so they must be satified with it. I cant see a good reason why CWL wont be the same

Hi
The new Cardiff – Jersey flights are to be operated by an Aer Arann ATR42 on behalf of thomsonfly.com
Flights will operate under the TOM flight codes and Flight Callsign.

Will be interesting to see if they can fill a 737-300 up on that route.
