Thomsonfly exit HUY and LBA

Are the rumours about Thomsonfly pulling out of HUY and LBA true. I was told over the weekend by member of DSA cabin crew visiting LBA that the LBA base would be closing down along with the HUY base to support further expansion from the DSA base. Is this true or is it all just here say? They did say it wouldn’t be this year, but it was planned for SO7 or S08. My other collegues at servisair say they have heard similar.

Are you refering to the mention of Vancouver on the DSA website by accident today or do you know something more concrete?

Im sure a weekly DSA-YVR and DSA-YYZ on Zoom would work, like at CWL

Its something to rival DSA and take the lime light away from DSA’s 1 year of operations birthday celebrations this weekend. That’s all I’m going to say at the mo.

Where is this big announcement that will outshine DSA? Pip dreams as usual!

From my perch here at DTV I can tell you YVR is coming from DSA. :dev2:

Since there is some HUY talk in this thread, Ryanair started HUY-DUB today

Seems like it would be Monastir dropped from MME, but they changed it so many times for this summer it might come back

They offer Monastir this summer, so would imagine that’s the route that has made way.

Lets hope Varna does better from DTV with Thomson, than it did from LBA, the route never even commenced!

Scott

Have they dropped a route to make way for Varna?

That would be more good news, not sure where you’ve heard that it’s happening though!

Glad to see that Thomsonfly are staying, would happily swap AGP for GRO!

A bit disappointing that this is apparantly the big announcement, thought we would have heard more than this!

Humberside is having Sharm El Sheikh with Excel Airways next summer, let’s hope that LBA flights to Taba do well and we get SSH!

According to airtours.co.uk, their programme is pretty much the same, means good news that we are keeping the likes of ZTH and RHO for more than one year!

Hope to see a full timetable shortly.

The summer 07 Thomsonfly LBA programme is now on sale.

The good news is that they are still basing an aircraft at LBA in summer 07 operating a total of 13 weekly flights. One New destination has been added. Gerona-Barcelona which serves the Costa Brava region off spain.

The Bad News is that this flight replaces the Saturday afternoon Malaga flights. So Thomsons have dropped Malaga-Costa Del Sol from LBA. This has probally got something to do with Jet2,s twice daily service. Also the Astreaus weekly sunday flight for My Travel/Airtours.

LBA based aircraft weekly programme.

From the First Choice Website:
We do not fly from Leeds Bradford to Tenerife (Reina Sofia) during November. Please try again, or alternatively refer to Our Flying Schedule for route information.

Yeah, will most likely be an LTE, can’t see them using their own aircraft!

Looking at the LBIA website its operated by LTE for tour operators, First Choice, Sunstart, Unijet Thomas Cook, and Sunset. Same as the 05-06 winter season.

Most likely a 757 on a W from Manchester, the A321’s are based at Bristol and Stansted. Maybe an A320 but much of the FCA fleet is 757, particuarly to TFS.

I hope your right Humberside and these people starting these rumours are wrong. They sounded very positive about what they were saying. Again, I just hope your right.
