Thomsonfly + Firstchoice Airways = Thomson Airways

My Apologies if this has already been mentioned,
It seems that the 2 big names are becoming one big one, sounds exiting!

Tuifly Germany have painted one of their aircraft back into a more classic Hapag Lloyd livery

Didn’t I read somewhere that Hapag Lloyd has been sold to a Hamburg based consortium?

On a stomp through T2 the other day, I noticed all the Electronic Check-in screens above the ThomsonFly/First Choice Check-in desk have changed to Thomson Airways. A good amunt of Staff from the FCA office in Commenwealth House have moved out, leaving only those essential until it closes completly when the move to Luton is complete. The only office to remain open willbe the combined Thomson/FCA crew room on the Mez in T2.

I’ve never really been able to keep up with things since the name Britannia disappeared!

Am I right in thinking that the newly formed Thomson Airways is still part of the World of TUI?

Just been looking at the combined fleet on Jethro’s. It’s a right old mixture of types and liveries!

Yeah Thomson Airways is still part of TUI. To be fair, the fleet isn’t that much of a mixture, 737’s, 757’s and 767’s will be what they end up with once the Airbuses have gone.

At a rough guess, this is probably as imaginative as they’ll get:

I’d be most happy to be proven wrong however!

A radical change then…. 😀

I can Imagine that will be the result, but I dislike it, I think they need to go experimental and mix up some different colours 🙂

It’s nice Sandy, except for the fact G-BYAN is now SE-BRP, has winglets and carries a large Tui Fly Nordic logo on the front end…:D;)

This is the new/current Thomson Airways logo shown at the bottom of the page. Its obviously TUI style Thomson but similar to the First Choice Airways logo in the layout style. However this is known to be a temporary logo and while it may be used as the new logo, a slightly modified version of this may be confirmed as the offical launch logo from next May.

I expect all the aircraft (that are to remain in the fleet) to be painted similar to the new style TUIfly Nordic livery. With the larger ”Thomson” titles on the above and the smaller ”Airways” below it, just like the ”Nordic” titles are shown on this link;

To me it just sounds like when they went from britannia airways to Thomson Airways then Thomsonfly. It should be Thomson Choice Airways 😀

Are they going to be launched within the mainline thomsonfly livery or are they adopting a new corporate image?, reason I ask is that rumours were that a new colour scheme was to be unveiled?.

They aren’t becoming, they already are! Thomsonfly/First Choice were renamed Thomson Airways on the 1st November, though obviously the FCA a/c need repainting. All the Thomson a/c at least are operating with ‘Operated by Thomson Airways’ stuck near the passenger door, and all the branding inside is Thomson Airways.
