Thorney Island Fly in Sat. 22nd Sept.

The organiser of yesterday’s successful fly in at Thorney, Daryl Cornelius, has asked that attending pilots please write to the Commanding Officer to express their thanks for the hospitality of the military and the opportunity to contribute to the sum of £2,400 raised for the charity SSAFA. Given the relatively small number of pilots this is quite an astonishing amount

Crikey, always sad to see a bent jet but one of the few occasions I imagine that you would be glad that the fuel tank is in front of the pilot. That could have turned very nasty.
