People who are hooligans and commit criminal damage deserve all they get, but this is yet another example of tarnishing the many by the few. I lived for many years where there were two hunts. Very few of the members were anything approaching wealthy – one of the Masters was a blacksmith. Most of the riders were local tradesmen, villagers, farmers and farm employees. It was great fun, good sport, great camaraderie and communal enjoyment. And of course hunts still widely exist and hunting regularly takes place, despite all the efforts of the Left and its fellow travellers to ban it.

Yes Ash, you are correct re Countryfile. Having dealt with these Hare Coursers, they are a dangerous lot to have to deal with when you catch them bang to rights.

Like all the “blood sports” types, the only difference between for instance fox hunters and hare coursers is the relative wealth of participants, none of them are particularly pleasant people and certainly will resort to violence to avoid capture of any sort.

Jim
Possibly because the farmers and police have made things too hot for the slime balls “oop t’North”
Besides you’ve bigger flat fields in your part of the world.

Sounds like we watched the same thing then.
They do seem an evil lot. I remember the guy on countryfile saying they ran him over when he wasn’t happy with them on his land. Crazy to think they are really that desperate and evil to carry out their barbaric act.

Jim was that police unit on countryfile the other day?
If only judges lived in the real world and passed proper, harsher sentences.

Mindless vandalism, we get loads of Hare Coursing around here, so much so, Lincs Police have a special unit that goes after them when Farmers sees them Coursing on their land.
It has been found many times that the culprits come from “Up North” and very large sums of money are placed on whoes dog gets the Hare. But to break in there and cause so much damage ?????????.

Bound to get off with a suspended sentence and fine which he will refuse to/ won’t be able to pay at most.
Shootings too good for them IMHO

I agree with Gary, they should be made to pay the lot off regardless of how ‘poor’ he may end up.
It’s sick to go and drive over animals. Some people really are weird, dangerous and psychotic.

Indeed.
I used to operate the PA22 off a strip in Suffolk (luckily with a locked hangar). We had endless instances of groups of men with four-wheel drives and large dogs using the strip at night for their ‘sport’
Nasty beyond belief
The hares were/are beautiful animals and were always a welcome sight as I pushed the still ticking aircraft back into the shed after an evening flight.

The should make him pay back every penny, even if that bankrupts him forever.

Sometimes I despair of the human race and the pond life it throws up. If this “person” is ever convicted(can’t be sure with the CPS) I wonder what sort of punishment he will get. I would hate to think of the bill 3 Aircraft 1 building and a burnt out Jeep Grand Cherokee!

Shameful vandalism….. hope there is sufficient evidence against the arrested 29yr old.
By: TonyT - 8th October 2013 at 22:27
That’s repairable.
They did similar a few years back where they took a load of tails off several aircraft tied down, hope the scumbag gets strung up by the balls and left to rot.
