While having a tidy up of one of my hard drives yesterday, I came across a long forgotten folder containing several photos of a throttle box I was once asked to identify by its owner.
This was at one of the aerojumbles, maybe Popham, and at least a dozen years ago, so it’s all a bit academic now, but I’d still like to solve the puzzle.
Can anyone come up with an identity for it please?

Sea Otter 1. The clue is in the AP number.

Seagull perhaps? A more adjustable undercarriage!

Not quite…but yes, you spotted the Supermarine connection.
It’s a pity the owner didn’t wish to part with it as it would have made an excellent addition to a collection of engine control boxes.

Walrus? Press button for turning off the UC warning. If anyone has a spare Walrus UC indicator I’d be interested too…

Blimey, the Forum is slow these days.
Here’s a clue:-

Thanks for the suggestions but I’m afraid you’re on the wrong track.
Having accumulated over 10GB of British aircraft cockpit reference material, mostly since I photographed the throttle box way back in 2004, the answer was already waiting for me in another folder.
Here’s a contemporary pic of one. If you know your cockpit widgets, there’s a strong clue as to its identity.
I’ll leave it up as entertainment for the evening.

Phillips and Powis fingerprints
The Miles Master I and III have the same throttle and mixture levers, in a similar box, but the friction damping knob is on the mixture side, while yours is on the throttle side. Your labeling implies you box was on the port side, throttle nearside. The Master had an additional pitch control, nearside. So maybe an early Phillips and Powis fixed pitch trainer?
What’s that whining sound?! Mosquito! Far more interesting to see a Mozzie throttle!!:)
