I’ve seen fotage of the US testing Thrust Vectoring. In one clip they had a typical engine exhaust performing a test. It vectored the thrust up and down like the F-22 can, but it also vectored it side to side and even vectored it in a complete circle.
My question is if the can modify a typical looking exhaust to do 3D Thrust Vectoring why don’t they apply it to all their aircraft. Just imagine how more manuverable a F-16, F-14, and all the other fighters they have would become. This would probably be a realively cheap way to increase aircraft performance and manuverability.
