Does anyone have good information on the T-Stick II mod performed to some F-105D’s? Apparently it increased bombing accuracy, but does anyone know how it actually worked?

Oh, for some reason I didn’t realize it was the same as the LORAN fitted to the F-4D (that I normally associate LORAN with) & RF-4C. Any ideas on why they enlarged the spine so much as compared to just using a similar antenna like what was on the Phantom?

All I know is what you probably already know…it was a LORAN -D unit. High tech stuff for the late 60s.

The equipment on board was the AN/ARN-92, produced by IT&T.
It was also fitted to some F-4D and RF-4C aircraft. On those, it is seen as the “towel rack” antenna on the aft fuselage.
