Loved the shots of the A-10s,P-38 and A-4. I think the A-4 must be the only aircraft I know where the rudder was built inside out to save weight.

Equipped with GE F404’s, Modern Radar and Advance Avionics. The little “Scooter” is still a very capable machine. Can you imagine the same aircraft fitted with HMD’s, AIM-9X’s, and AMRAAM’s………………boy I hope Brazil is listening?

The arrivals day was well worth being around for, and it paid to stick around for departures after the show, too:

The usual selection of warbirds which Thunder Over Michigan is famous for:

Steve Hinton flying the Chino P-38:

Thunder Over Mighican had by far the best selection of British and German aircraft of any show in the USA in 2006, a Bf109E, Ju-52, a couple of Hurricanes and two Spitfires:

Will Ward’s MiG-17 had a wardrobe undercarriage malfunction:

Modern stuff wasn’t forgotten, either:

One of the highlights for me was the Collings Foundation’s TA-4 Skyhawk:

More of the same here:

Richard.

Battle Creek A-10’s……….I’ve even seen them at the Mac Dill AFB Airshow in Tampa, Florida. If, memory serve me the BC ANG A-10’s have seen alot of action in Iraq………………:diablo:

Any idea if any more Skyraiders turned up on Sunday..

No, only the one Skyraider turned up all weekend.

Any P-40’s?

Yes, there was one P-40 along with a few P-51s, a couple of P-47s and a P-38.

Richard.

Just a few last pictures taken at the Thunder….

Wish I could have seen the Sea Fury in the air at the show… but I do hope to see her in the air later this month in Ottawa at the AirRally at the Canada Aviation Museum 🙂

Scooter..

I maybe attend 3 or 4 local shows a year…within a day’s drive if possible…this one was 9hrs away so that is pretty much the max for me these days…

I think The Windsor Mosquito Group goal is to have a very nice static Mosquito. The workmanship is also pretty incredible

Thank’s for the viewing pleasure!

Love the auntie Ju.

Is that going to be an airworthy Mozzy, or is that the new build non-airworthy job from N.Z. for the Museum

The two P-47’s and single P-51 put on an excellent show with those high speed passes over the tank battle in the field…amazing stuff…I watched both shows at 10 and 2…. 🙂
