Greetings from the land of Oz….
For some unknown reason (not that i mind) Townsville (northern Queensland) is holding an airshow along the foreshore (Known as The Strand) this Saturday. On Sunday the RAAF base will be open to the public.
Even more stranger is the fact that the Thunderbirds are also here for this event! Considering we only have a population of only 150,000 people and that its not a regular event makes the mind boggle a bit!
But hey whos complaining?
Unfortunately we are currently experiencing one the of largest dust storms which has gone through almost 1/3 of Australia, so the visibility is poor.
Also appearing will be the Roulettes, an F-18, the Army’s new MRH90, P-51, C-47, Caribou and a few others..
Two USAf C-17s and a KC-10 are here as well in support of the Tbirds.
Managed to capture the Thunderbirds doing some practice along the beach here today too. Sorry for the poor quality!

Seen here doing a low speed high AOA pass at less then 500FT AGL… along with plenty of damn seagulls!

I actually was in Townsville the Thursday before the show for business, and cursed the fact that i did not manage to be there at least for the general rehearsal of Friday. To make things worse the small museum was closed when my business meet was finished and then the Queensland And Northern Territories Air Service displaced my suitcaes on the trip from Townsville, via Brisbane to Sydney:mad::mad::mad::mad:
But from bizzperspective the trip was good
