Tibenham Weather

Can anyone give a local weather report on Tibenham please (to save a phone call)

Lots of rain has been forecast and reported in the region, but we’ve hardly
had a drop in South Essex, apart from some light drizzle during the night, and
early this morning.
I didn’t fancy driving all the way up there on Sunday, to find the place
waterlogged. Especially as I expect the parking is on grass ?

What a great shame.

I was beginning to think we’d made the wrong decision not to go.
Once the rain eventually cleared here it wasn’t a bad day.

A friend was due to fly in from Stapleford, I don’t know if he made it.

Edit: He didn’t as Stapleford was out of use until the afternoon.

Ah well, fingers crossed for Damyns Hall in August.

[QUOTE=~Alan~;1908870]We’ve very reluctantly decided not to make the trip.

You made the right decision. Sadly the show was a bit of a washout, and much of it was spent standing under an umbrella getting cold and wet.
There were a few good displays, Carolyn Grace flew her Spitfire, there was a spirited display by a Bestmann, the Aerostar Yak team did a good display, and some very good Pitts aerobatics.
However, understandably the B17 didnt show up, neither did the Dak or the Hammond Mustangs.
It could have been a very enjoyable day but sadly spoilt by the weather.

We’ve very reluctantly decided not to make the trip.

Hammering it down with rain here in Essex, and at my dad’s in Watton. With more rain forecast for the day.

Knowing my luck, this afternoon will be beautiful.

I wouldn’t mind, but this is the first significant rainfall we’ve had for some while.

My sympathy goes out to the organisers

Just back from Tibenham, a few soggy patches on the grass near the memorial , but drying very quickly, everything else there was good. Fantastic sunset tonight.

Thanks for that.

After seeing the pictures from Silverstone, it was a concern. Even though that
is some distance away.

I’m local and my aircraft is based there.

It’s ben a fairly patchy day today, but on balance it has been a lot drier than forecast.

Regrettably my work will keep me and my aircraft away from the show. But I wouldn’t have any qualms about setting out.

I’m coming down from Washington, Tyne & Wear, so the weather better be good!

The BBC forecast is for heavy and light showers, so expect anything.
