Some years ago there was much fanfare as Tim Wallis secured, from Russia IIRC, various projects including again IIRC Hurricane, JU87 and ME110.
At the time I seriously looked forward to the possibility of seeing a 110 in the air!
Whatever happened to that?
Thanks, Don
1 million pardons if that should be BF110 BTW, I’ve forgotten the rule!

Could it be LN+NR at the “Deutsches Technikmuseum” in Berlin?

Shot down and crash landed on a frozen lake near Murmansk in January 1943 and recovered in 1991. The museum bought two planes (LN+NR and M8+ZE, the latter was used for spares) it in 1997. The restored aircraft went on display in 2005.

Me110 bits
From my days attending the Tangmere (then Fontwell then the Shoreham) aerojumbles I remember Jim Pearce sold off all sorts of bits for the aircraft he recovered. I bought a few off of him including some nice Me110 cowling parts (which went to Ken Ward) and a prop blade covered in Cyrillic scribble from visitors to the wreck.
He also had spinners, DB801 cylinders and other prop blades which were sold to raise a few shillings at the time. This is probably what happened to the side windows – sold off.
I visited Jim at his farm at Durrington and saw M8+ZE, two Hurricanes, a Ju87 and other wreck parts there. All I can say is – Amazing.
M8+ZE had her four nose cannon still mounted under the floor, the main instrument panel in and all sorts of equipment intact. As is the way with these things (a la Hendon Halifax) most of the gear went missing post-recovery.
Would have been fantastic to have seen and heard an Me110 in the air. If thre had ben the will then the way would have been found – there was more than enough material to work with. To have had two DB601’s running together would have been a memorable experience, let alone a flying aircraft.
I’ll try and find the photo’s I took at Durrington and post ’em.
Anon.

Great pics of the 110 at the TechniksMuseum. I wonder what happened to the canopy side windows? Apparently the same Museum has Ju88 and Heinkel 111 projects in the pipeline ?

Great pics, strange that the past few years the flood of Russian discoveries has almost died down. What caused this? No airframes left, financial crisis etc?
Cheers

Here are some pics taken by the recovery team whilst I was there in 1991.
Plenty of other pics of Hurricanes, Tomahawks, Hampden, 109’s ect.
