Probably because rudderes are not cheap and some Lincoln ones were there at the right time – I think she has Lincoln wheels as well.
I’d like to see her painted up in the markings of a tiger force machine with white undersides.

Nice photo! I’m glad the ‘City Of Lincoln’ crest got toned down a bit in later years though. It’s a shame that with modern paint techniques, codes and markings on ‘474 can’t be changed a little more often, without having to wait for the major overhauls and repaints of the entire aircraft. There were an awful lot of squadrons, but ‘474 will be due for her third main spar before she gets through them all! One I’d love to see, though I doubt they’d do it, is for her to be painted up as ‘Sugar’ from Hendon-that would look brilliant in the skies. And is she ever going to get her H2S?
Anyone else have a particular Lanc they’d like to see ‘474 painted up as?
