Well it appear’s to be someone, standing in the door way of possibly a wrecked aircraft.

The grass, well it’s not the smokeable type, that’s for sure.

Jungle shot, H’mm not sure, could be a aircraft dump.

Type of aircraft, Bomber or Transport type, maybe a C-47, but I’m checking book’s to see if I can pick the shape up of the possible door in other type’s as well.

A year or so ago there was some talk that perhaps parts of one of these aircraft was still kicking about but it doesn’t seem to have come to anything.

Yes, as you know it was a period of feverish rumours and at a certain point a friend of mine (whom I know is very dependable) conformed its existence, it didn’t show up in the end (yet). Although I have still some hope that this is not a rumour, I will keep you informed about any developments. It is very quiet at the moment. The rumour by the way has it that it was the spares ship that survived somewhere in the west of Holland. A photograph taken in the late forties/early fifties showed the fuselage still in camouflage.

With the recent Stirling fuselage discovery there must be other treasures just waiting to be discovered.

I had long forgotten that I had these slides, given to me by my dear friend of over thirty years, Harry van der Meer. I am amazed how well they have cleaned up. It is full frame by the way.

I took the precaution of removing the ‘ZOMER/WINTER’ stencil but it didn’t fool you continentals. 🙂
