Tired of Waiting

Apparently a CSA captain who got tired of a labour dispute yesterday in Isreal that was holding up passangers, got sick of waiting and left without the passangers but did have the luggage. Hilarious!

Lol, yes I have just read this on Airline Quality.com, heres the full article from there:

The pilot of a CSA Czech Airlines flight took off from Ben-Gurion International Airport yesterday morning without his passengers and with the suitcases of passengers who had just disembarked from the flight still in the aircraft’s hold.

The pilot was apparently exasperated at the long wait to unload the baggage due to a go-slow by airport employees.

The flight landed in Israel at 5.15am and was due to take off for Prague at 6am.

After waiting for over two-and-a-half hours for ground crew to unload the cargo and load the baggage of the outgoing passengers, the pilot decided to take off.

“They allowed the 82 arriving passengers to disembark, but no workers would take the luggage off the plane. So we flew back and will transport the luggage to Tel Aviv later,” CSA spokesman Vaclav Kral in Prague told Reuters.

He added that around 30 or so passengers scheduled to leave for Prague were stranded in Israel.

Deputy head of international relations at the Israel Airports Authority, Pinchas Schiff, dismissed criticism leveled at the IAA for permitting the Czech carrier to take off without its passengers.

Schiff said in response that, “Ben-Gurion is not a prison for foreign airliners. It is not our business, but rather a matter between the airliner and its passengers. If the Czech company permitted the pilot to take off without its passengers from Israel, we cannot prevent that.”

LOL! Surely the passengers could have taken some sort of action against the airline, seeing as they had their bags taken away from them!
